Why Midlife Matters
Midlife often brings a shift in priorities and perspective.
You may be contemplating a career change or retirement; navigating children leaving home or shifting relationships; adapting to health challenges or searching for meaning and purpose.
You may simply be asking yourself: What next?
Midlife Reimagined
Midlife Reimagined offers a carefully structured week that blends personal reflection with the shared insight that comes from being alongside others at a similar stage of life.
Small-group sessions give you the chance to hear different perspectives and feel accompanied, while quieter moments offer space to think, digest, and integrate what emerges.
Questions We Explore
You’ll be invited to consider your personal and professional journey so far — the joys and achievements, the challenges you’ve navigated, and the moments that didn’t go to plan.
Every life has its ups and downs, and regret can be a powerful teacher; the retreat creates a compassionate space to consider the wisdom that has emerged along the way.
Together, we explore questions such as:
What is important to me now — and what is changing?
How do I want to live, lead, and contribute in the years ahead?
What roles or patterns no longer serve me?
What do I want to prioritise — or let go of — in the next stage of my life?
Where the Retreat Takes Place
Midlife Reimagined takes place at The Coach House on the internationally recognised Sharpham Trust estate in South Devon — a peaceful setting surrounded by 550 acres of woodland and river paths.
The Coach House is a private, self-contained space for the retreat. Its timber-framed extension, where we gather each day for group sessions, opens directly onto an 18th-century walled garden, creating a peaceful backdrop for our work together..
Accommodation
All accommodation is based around the Coach House quadrangle, so the whole retreat — your room, the group space, meals, and quiet areas — is held within one calm and spacious environment.
Each person has a private ensuite room with underfloor heating powered by Sharpham’s biomass boiler and a secure code lock. An accessible ensuite room is also available.
In 2022, The Times named The Coach House the number one retreat venue in the UK and Europe, highlighting both its contemporary design and its exceptional surroundings.
Food
Meals are absolutely delicious — vegetarian, organic, and made with produce grown on the Sharpham estate wherever possible.
All food is cooked exclusively for our group, with care for dietary needs and preferences, including gluten-free and dairy-free options.
